In a culture obsessed with certainty, painting becomes a space to dwell in ambiguity. I become still in the landscape, listening and gathering fragments of experience like ingredients. Beginning with a colour field, scratched lines map elusive terrain. Shapes call for colours, and each colour informs the next. I turn the canvas like a compass, waiting for the composition to reveal itself. Boundaries blur - land becomes sky, horizons become windowsills. This painting celebrates intangible connection to the mysterious beauty of the place I call home.
